“DENIER!” – I wonder what he denies?

“These Holocaust deniers are very slick people. They justify everything they say with facts and figures.”

It gives me no pleasure to predict that the Federal Republic of Germany is about to soil itself again to please the Noisy Lobby.

The players in the coming spectacle are noteworthy. The story is worth pondering because it has all the earmarks of a wide-screen feature film I hope a savvy producer somewhere is going to pick up. It could be another Scopes Monkey Trial feature right in the heart of Europe.

Imagine an erudite man of the cloth embroiled in a spiritual war against a bullying minority ensconced in a “shitty little country” with branches in New York, London, and Tel Aviv. These bullies are swinging the Auschwitz cudgel in a disgracefully cowed Vaterland in hopes that the current Pope on St. Peter’s Throne will remain in the thralls of a soul-deadening myth. The man of the cloth is a British Bishop of a renegade Catholic church called SSPX (Society of St. Pius X) who has dug in his heels and stands firm.

I am sketching the backdrop for you as it was told to me. A couple of years ago, His Excellency did an interview for Swedish television in a German town called Zaitzhofen. The topic of that interview was to be a theological issue that needed elucidation. After the interview was done, the interviewer sprang a political rat: Just where, exactly, did His Excellency stand on the Hallowed Holocaust?

Bishop Richard Williamson spoke off the cuff into a tape that was still running. He spoke in privacy, behind closed doors. He knew that what he said was against political dogma as well as widespread social consensus in the Bundesrepublik. However, he was a subject of the Queen of England. The television crew was Swedish. In order not to offend against proscribed German law that stifles any discussions, much less allows investigation according to a legal construct called “Offenkundigkeit” – “The Holocaust is ’obvious’!” – he asked that his answer not be broadcast in censor-ridden Germany. He knew there might be fallout – he didn’t know how much.

New angle. The Bishop’s church, more fully known as “The Society of Pope St. Pius X”, named after a late Pope, adheres to traditional Catholic dogma. Mean tongues have branded Pope Pius X as “Hitler’s Pope”, allegedly for his relaxed demeanor during the Second World War, scolding him for “not having done enough”, “not having spoken out enough” against the Holocaust. (Note from me: The above in italics is an error. The man derided as ‘Hitler’s Pope’ was Pius XII not Pius X )

I won’t go into what this splinter church believes and therefore practices, because I know nothing of Catholic ways. It is my understanding, though, that the SSPX does not take a stand on political-secular issues – their main grudge against the current Church of Rome is its enthusiastic adaptation to modernity, a trend believed to be proscribed and monitored behind the scenes by Zion.

In 1988, the year when Richard Williamson was ordained as Bishop of the SSPX, the Church of Rome took a firm stand and excommunicated him, along with several others, thus creating a spiritual Catholic out-elite. This splinter group follows the rituals, including Latin mass, that grew over millennia much like an oak with a life of its own, hard at the core, unyielding in substance. As SSPX faithful see it, traditional dogma is to be sternly observed.

The SSPX movement became very attractive to many. This defiantly renegade church has grown and solidified over the decades, whereas the Chair of St. Peter, watered down by way-too-much PC, as SSPX disciples claim, has lost its deified edge.

Please note the convergence of dates. In 1988, the very year when His Excellency was shown the door in Rome for following his conscience, Ernst Zundel’s Second Great Holocaust Trial in Toronto brought forth the weighty Leuchter Report – the first forensic investigation ever in more than 40 years that proves that science does not lie, not even for the “NAZIS”.

The so-called “Holocaust” is bunk.

The Leuchter Report findings have since been replicated several times and verified. What US execution equipment expert Leuchter found and documented to the horror of the Lobby destroyed the orthodox, widely believed claims about the gassings alleged to have happened at Auschwitz.

The Jews of Canada were plain beside themselves! In response, they did what Jews do – they start spewing fire and flame all over mainstream media to discredit the rebel who dares cause a crack to their clout.

Alan Borovoy, a lawyer of the Canadian Civil Liberties Union, a Jewish stronghold of the Left in Canada as elsewhere, informed the media minions that Zundel was a “peripheral non-entity” who couldn’t fill a phone booth with supporters of his views. In tandem, other spokesmen for the Jewish Lobby were joining the fray , as predictably happens when Zion blows into its trumpets so as to keep gentiles in line.

Remember the song of the Sixties:

“Those were the days, my friend – we thought they’d never end…”

The Holocaust, as peddled by media extravagances like “Shoah”, ran on some potent emotional fuel. No qualm was ever uttered. If you knew on which side your bread was buttered, you wouldn’t be caught dead doubting the claims of the Holocaust Remembrance Lobby, as Zundel had done. Few were the braves that strode into his court room where angels feared to tread.

His Excellency, then ministering in a US Midwest town just south of Canada, was one of those rare braves. Legend has it that the Bishop caught a whiff from mainstream media about a German rebel embroiled in a concerted four-months trial – and as one out-elitist to another, it stands to reason that His Excellency may have found some food for thought in what he saw and heard about the Auschwitz Saga. This accidental walk-in spectator caught Holocaust Denial, so they say, as though he were catching the measles.

These days, Revisionists sit back and rather smugly watch how Holocaust Denial has morphed onto so many major political stages that there is nothing more to be argued. The scientific battle has been won – that there is still fierce spiritual warfare is neither here nor there. Science will never mix with dogma. It should be food for thought in our Western world that the entire Arab world is wise to the fact that wherever the Holocaust Card is rammed down people’s throats, they are watching a Weapon of Mass Deception under the pretext of an unverified historical claim.

The Arab countries still think with their blood. The Arab countries aren’t Europe, subdued and docilized by Zion.

Truth in a picture.

What happens in Europe, by contrast, especially in Germany, can only be called lunacy. As Judge Ulrich Meinerzhagen shrieked at the conclusion of a recent Stalinist show trial that cost Ernst Zundel five years, it doesn’t even matter if there was a Holocaust or not, Herr Zundel! The law says you can’t question it! And, furthermore, not only can’t you question it, you good-for-nothing rogue, your own defense team cannot, either! Off with their heads, the whole lot!

Words to that effect were actually spoken in Mannheim, believe it or not. That so-called German judge delivered himself of an Old-Testament curse in broad daylight. Even a bird will refuse to fly over your grave, Herr Zundel! In a courtroom in 2007. On behalf of Germany’s Zionist masters.

That’s Europe today, three generations after so-called “liberation.”

The German politologist, Udo Walendy, spent years in jail – not for what he said and wrote, mind you, but for what he should have said and written – and didn’t!

The one-time NPD party leader, Günter Deckert, was sentenced and incarcerated because, allegedly, he smirked while verbally translating the 1988 Leuchter Report to a mere handful of his friends.

Best-selling author, David Irving, likewise a British subject, was thrown into an Austrian jail on grounds that he misspoke himself on Auschwitz – not yesterday, not last week, month, or year – no! Seventeen years ago!

And yet, try all you want to legislate against a temporal religion – doubt has a way of spreading like crabgrass.

Who can forget the David Irving quote that “…more people died on the back seat of Senator Kennedy’s car than ever died in the gas chamber of Auschwitz…”?

Just recently, the French comedian Dieudonné complained to hearty applause that he is being dragged before a court and fined for making people laugh!

Back to the Church of Rome, believed to be hollowed out from within by clandestine political interests so as to ever more weaken the West – for decades, bland proclamations, tame sermons, lackluster financial support!

I can imagine that a beleaguered papal shepherd might well have cast a longing eye at the SSPX’s vigorous membership growth and decided the time had come to practice forgiveness for a bit of politically incorrect speech so as to lure more than a million errant sheep back home into the fold.

I don’t know if this was the reason. I’m guessing.

“I wear a Yarmulke! Why don’t you? Our fathers the Jews want us to you know!”

At any rate, a German-born Pope on the Throne of St. Peter stretched out his hand to four renegade Bishops, inviting them in from out of the cold. He did this in all innocence. He says he didn’t know about the Big-H heresy allegedly tainting the renegade church. At least that’s what he claims.

Many see that Swedish television taping as a deliberate move meant to entrap the Bishop so as to embarrass the Pope. You judge for yourself what His Excellency said, for the record:

In a sane world, this would not have triggered a crisis. Alas, we no longer live in a rational world. Like trained seals, the smear mongers sprang into action. The media tsunami was vicious.

Some people had long memories.

After all, who had been, once upon a wicked time, the leader of a pack of Hitler Youth? Pope Benedict the XVI – that’s who!

No doubt intent on training them on Hitler’s orders to become proverbial genocidal monsters!

It was ugly, and it didn’t stop. To this day, it is going full tilt. Big people jumped into the fray. It must have hurt the good Bishop a lot.

What must he have thought as he watched Chancellor Merkel demand that the Pope explain himself and clarify just what, precisely, he thought that he was doing? To welcome back into the fold an utterly disgraceful bunch of well-known haters, racists, antisemites, white supremacists and worse!? How dare a Pope snub scores and scores of Hitler’s concentration camp survivors and disregard that, therefore, Germany is obligated in perpetuity to embrace and endorse what Israel demands?

The Bishop was tried and found wanting. He was fined 10,000 hefty Euros for ten minutes’ worth of interview tape. This fine is now being appealed. A ruling is expected on Monday, 11 July 2011.

I am not holding my breath. The defense can’t be on the facts of the case – for scientific facts cannot be argued in a country where truth is no defense. His argument will be, if only inferentially, that it is not his fault the tape was broadcast in a country that prides itself on crawling on its belly based on a sordid fable.

Many, even those still close to him, have urged His Excellency to grit his teeth and just recant his heresy. Why not apologize? A small concession for the sake of churchly harmony. Why not?

The pressure on the Bishop must be huge.

So far, all indications are this Bishop, for one, won’t recant. He won’t apologize. In a prayerful mode, he has asked for good people all over the world to pray for a just outcome.

Some of us, not part of an official faith, might hope for even more. I know I hope that he will stick to his irreverence and, paraphrasing Oscar Wilde, tell Germany’s appalling censors:

“You have smeared me in absentia. You have charged me in absentia. You have sentenced me in absentia. You might as well shoot me in absentia.”

Wearing a clerical collar and flanked by police, Bishop Williamson was escorted out of Heathrow Airport following his flight from Argentina in February, 2009… – God bless Him, he’s laughing at the foolish bastards! That’s what I’ll be doing when they lead me away as well.

Bishop Richard Williamson: Holocaust Denial and Jewish Influence on the Catholic Church

April 15, 2010

Courage Incarnate

By Trudie Pert

On April 16th, 2010, Bishop Richard Williamson, is scheduled to go on trial in Regensburg, Germany for the hate crime of Holocaust denial. While Bishop Williamson had expressed doubts about the Holocaust since the late 1980’s it was not until November, 2008, during comments he made on a Swedish television interview that he was charged with the crime of Holocaust denial. Because he refused to pay the fine of $16,000 he has been ordered to stand trial. If he decides to go to Germany, he can be convicted for the crime of “Volksverhetzung,” (incitement of hatred for a people), as was Ernst Zündel.

Bishop Williamson is a member of the Society of St. Pius X, a traditionalist order founded in 1970 in protest to the liberalizing effects of Vatican II. The SSPX has sought to preserve the timeless beliefs and practices of the Catholic Church amidst the alterations to belief and ritual that were introduced in the middle of the last century by Vatican II. The Society has 510 priests working in 31 countries, and 2 million members. Bishop Williamson, British born and Cambridge educated, is one of four bishops consecrated in 1988 by SSPX founder, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. He is an academic, fluent in French, German, and Spanish. Until he was appointed rector of the South American seminary in La Reja, Argentina, in 2003, he was rector of the North American seminary in Winona, Minnesota for many years. Because of his statements on the Holocaust, he has been relieved of his position and silenced by the Church.

If you are non-Jewish and are of European descent, then you are affiliated with the Catholic Church. No matter what your current beliefs, your family, at least for a thousand years, until the Reformation, was Catholic. The Catholic Church unified, and civilized your ancestors and permitted the art, science, economy, and morality of Europe to flourish. In addition to protecting their souls, the Catholic Church defended your ancestors from non-European aliens: from invading Moslems, and from Jewish influence on culture. In the U.S., Catholicism is still the largest single religious denomination with 70 million believers. In Western Europe the number is 211,466 million, 55% of the population. However, instead of guarding its members, as it did in the past, the Church has now joined their historic adversary.

In his book, Separation and its Discontents: Toward an Evolutionary Theory of Anti-Semitism, Kevin MacDonald devotes considerable space(short version) to an analysis of the Catholic Church’s relationship with the Jews, beginning in Roman times and continuing to the National Socialist era. He shows that early anti-Semitism by the Church Fathers was a defensive response to Jewish economic domination and enslavement of non-Jews in the 4th century.

Catholic institutional anti-Semitism, he implies, grew out of both theology and ethnic conflict. The Church asserted as doctrine that by rejecting Jesus as the Messiah, the Jews had rejected God and had forfeited their status as God’s Chosen People. The official Church doctrine was that Jews should be tolerated in a subservient, powerless role because of their usefulness as testimony to the truth of Christianity.

By adopting this theology, the Church had erected a powerful theological rationale for protecting and civilizing the European peoples. The traditionalist view is that these definitive beliefs about Jews cannot be altered. They are forever part of Church dogma. It would therefore not be surprising to find that traditionalist Catholics like Bishop Williamson may have negative attitudes about Jews or about Jewish influence on the Catholic Church since World War II.

Wearing a dog collar and flanked by police, Bishop Williamson was escorted out of Heathrow Airport following his flight from Argentina in February, 2009.

The reason that the fundamental, dogmatic teachings of the Church did not change over time is because the Catholic Church believed them to be Divine Revelation. However, directives and writings of the Council of Vatican II (1962–65) often contradict the eternal teachings of the Church. Especially problematic are those publications re-defining the Church’s position toward the Jews.

Before Vatican II, the Catholic doctrine was that the Scriptures were infallible because they were dictated by the Holy Ghost Beginning in the 19th Century, however, the interpretive method of “historicism” began to apply new criteria to the study of the sacred texts. In interpreting Scripture, historicism took into account archeology, the natural sciences, and contemporary social and psychological theories that proposed to explain the behavior of society and individuals. One of the theologians who defended the relativistic method of istoricism at Vatican II was Josef Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI.

In 2001, the Pontifical Biblical Commission (PBC), an official part of the Congregation for the Faith in the Vatican, published the book, The Hebrew People and its Holy Scriptures in the Christian Bible. The book succinctly describes the radical changes in the Church’s position toward the Jews during and after Vatican II. Cardinal Ratzinger was the president of the PBC. Everything in the book, therefore, was written under his personal direction. His Prefacerepresents an extra seal of endorsement and support.

The introduction to The Hebrew People and its Holy Scriptures in the Christian Bible defends the idea that because of the imprisonment and death of so many Jews in the Nazi concentration camps in WW II, it is essential to re-examine the spiritual relations between Christians and Jews. The book’s aim is to “advance the dialogue between Christians and Jews” by interpreting the Bible in a relativistic manner pleasing to Jewish sensibilities.

The result is a new conception for relations of the Church with the Jews. Actually, with respect to the Jews, a new perspective had already been suggested by the Austrian Catholic theologian, Johann Baptist Metz. (Incidentally, Father Metz was considered a “Catholic spokesman” for the Frankfurt School.) Not only did he assume the relativism and the deconstructive methods of the Frankfurt School, he also placed the Holocaust, using the synonym “Auschwitz,” into the center of history. According to Metz, Scripture required reinterpretation and revitalization after the Holocaust. This coincides with the thinking of the Pontifical Biblical Commission.

Benedict XVI receives a framed scroll for Israel chief rabbis on May, 12, 2009 at the center for the Jewish Heritage in Jerusalem

The Pontifical Biblical Commission denies both the Old and New Testament as sources of Revelation. “The change caused by the extermination of the Jews has stimulated all the Churches to completely re-think their relations with Judaism and, as a consequence, to reconsider their interpretation of the Hebrew Bible, the Old Testament. Some have asked themselves whether Christians should repent for their appropriation of the Hebrew Bible and a (Christian) interpretation that no Jew could accept. Should Christians, then, read the Bible with the Hebrews in order to respect its Jewish origin?” (pp 54-5) Should the events of World War II change the bi-millennial interpretation of the Church about Revelation? One would think that what was true before the catastrophe would remain true afterward. But the answer of the PBC is implicitly in the affirmative: Jews are to be the final authority in Biblical interpretation.

Not only do the authors of, The Hebrew People and its Holy Scriptures In The Christian Church, give Jews the final authority on Biblical interpretation, they make a number of assertions totally at odds with traditional Catholic teaching. They allege that the present-day Jewish religion is the true heir of the divine promise of the Old Testament. For example, the Pontifical Biblical Commission states, “Far from replacing Israel, the [Catholic] Church remains in solidarity with it.” (p. 152).

The Catholic Church has always taught that according to Revelation, the Old Covenant was revoked with the coming of Christ, and that the true heir of the Old Covenant is the Catholic Church.

Elio Toaff, chief Rabbi of Rome, welcoming Pope John Paul II to a service at the Roman Synagogue, 1986

In advancing this thesis, the PBC does not distinguish between what is religion and what is race in Judaism. Instead it tries to make the Hebrew people, in the racial sense, coincide with the elect people, in the religious sense. If the Old Covenant is still valid, then it is a small step to the conclusion that the Holocaust was a heinous crime against God’s Chosen.

In addition to corrupting the Catholic teaching about the Old and New Covenant, the PBC has perverted Catholic teaching regarding the crime of Deicide. It is perennial Catholic teaching that the guilt and the penalty of certain crimes against God are, by their very nature, transferred to future generations — for example, Original Sin and the sin of the Tower if Babel. Such also was the sin of Deicide. The traditional teaching of the Church was that the guilt and the punishment demanded by justice for the murder of Jesus were assumed voluntarily by the Jews and were laid upon their future generations. This was the constant interpretation of the Catholic Church until Vatican Council II.

The PBC, however, offers an opinion which is the very opposite of this Catholic teaching. That is, it alleges that the Gospels were not written objectively and cannot be considered a part of Divine Revelation. Accordingly there was no crime of Deicide, no such crime was committed by the Jews as a people, and the guilt and punishment of that crime did not fall upon the future generations of the Jews. So keen are they to seek the pardon and approval of Jews that relativist Catholic theologians seem ready to accept the notion of Deicide not by, but of the Jews. The religion of the Holocaust is spreading from the Synagogue to the Cathedral. And Holocaust denial is its gravest sin.

John Paul II at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, March, 2000

The reflections and actions of John Paul II and Benedict XVI concerning the Jews are condemned by the binding words of the Third Ecumenical Lateran Council, (1179), which pronounced an anathema on those who, preferring the Jews to the Christians, would receive the testimony of Jews against Christians and not that of Christians against Jews.

Speaking about Bishop Richard Williamson, His Holiness, Bishop of Rome and Vicar of Jesus Christ, Successor of St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles, Pope Benedict XVI stated in U.S. News and World Report, February 12, 2009:

“The hatred and contempt for men, women and children that was manifested in the Shoah was a crime against God and against humanity,” Benedict told the visiting leaders, using the Hebrew term for the Holocaust. “This should be clear to everyone, especially to those standing in the tradition of the Holy Scriptures.”

“It is beyond question that any denial or minimization of this terrible crime is intolerable and altogether unacceptable,” he said during the meeting in the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace.

Jewish leaders applauded his comments, saying the crisis with the church that had been sparked by Bishop Richard Williamson’s comments was over.

Abraham Foxman, a Holocaust survivor and the national director of the Anti-Defamation League, said the Vatican should excommunicate Williamson again because of his remarks.

Vatican, Jewish groups say Holocaust-denying bishop’s apology falls short

Last Updated: Friday, February 27, 2009

CBC News

Pope Kisses Israeli ASS

The Vatican and Jewish groups said Friday they were not impressed with an apology by a British bishop who denied the scale of the Holocaust.

Bishop Richard Williamson belongs to the Society of St. Pius X, an ultraconservative religious order that has been estranged from the Roman Catholic Church for decades. In January, Pope Benedict XVI lifted excommunications of Williamson and three other bishops from the order in a bid to heal the rift.

The pontiff’s move ignited an international furor because, only days earlier, Williamson had denied the existence of Nazi gas chambers during the Second World War and alleged that no more than 300,000 Jews died in the concentration camps.

The Holy See, which had demanded a full and public recanting of Williamson’s views on the Holocaust, said Friday that Williamson’s apology was not enough to allow him to serve as a clergyman in the Roman Catholic Church.

Vatican spokesman Rev. Federico Lombardi said Friday that Williamson’s statement “does not seem to respect the conditions” the Vatican set out for him Feb. 4, when it decreed Williamson must “absolutely and unequivocally distance himself” from his remarks.

Charlotte Knobloch, head of Germany’s Central Council of Jews, said that by failing to clearly retract “his malicious lies, Williamson has shown again that he is a convinced antisemite and an incorrigible Holocaust denier.”

Elan Steinberg, vice-president of the American Gathering of Holocaust Survivors and their Descendants, said he could not tell if Williamson’s apology was genuine.

“If it is, let him reflect over the coming weeks and make a proper act of penance,” he said in an email statement.

“For our part, we seek to move ahead and resume the Catholic-Jewish dialogue with renewed vigour and determination.”

In his statement, Williamson expressed regret.

“If I had known beforehand the full harm and hurt to which they would give rise, especially to the Church, but also to survivors and relatives of victims of injustice under the Third Reich, I would not have made them,” he said. “To all souls that took honest scandal from what I said, before God, I apologize.”

Ordered out of Argentina

Williamson arrived in Britain on Wednesday after Argentina’s government ordered him out for his views on the Holocaust.

He had been living in La Reja, where he was seminary director of the Society of St. Pius X, since 2003.

The Society of St. Pius X has also distanced itself from Williamson’s remarks.

God bless Richard Williamson! Our churches may be in schism, but he is speaking the Truth about the lying Deicides!

The Prodigal Son - July 12, 2011

I don’t think I really like that term ‘Deicides’…

Where did that come from anyway?

5. Mike - July 13, 2011

Whats wrong with that term? Christ is God and they murdered Him. That was the charge leveled against them. OK..how about Christ-killers then? :)

6. scheung - July 14, 2011

Christ-killing Deicides.

The Prodigal Son - July 14, 2011

Whatever. It’s a stupid word.

If I’m a murderer – I’m homicidal. If I commit a murder it’s called ‘homicide’.

If I want to kill myself – I’m suicidal. If I kill myself it’s called ‘suicide’.

So if anything – the word should be ‘Deicidal’.

If there has been a homicide, a body is required to prosecute.

If there has been a suicide, the evidence is a dead person on the floor.

My Lord and my God Jesus Christ is alive, and sits at the right hand of the Father. God is not dead.

God has defeated death; “trampling down death by death”.

I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.

No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

– Gospel of John, Ch 10

Christ Conquers!

7. Mike - July 15, 2011

Well, I borrowed it from an Orthodox priest. I know you cannot kill God, but the Jews did kill Him in the flesh.. In other words, if they could truly commit Deicide, they would.

The Prodigal Son - July 16, 2011

Yes, I think I know who you’re talking about. Is he really an Orthodox priest though? What Church is he part of?

Just to clarify, I wasn’t calling you guys stupid… I just have never liked that word.

Like – if you were a murderer… I wouldn’t call you a ‘homicide’. See what I’m saying?

8. Mike - July 17, 2011

True. It isnt grammatically correct… lol. I’ve only used it to stress a point.

When I was growing up as a Roman Catholic kid, we were taught that Jews are Christ-killers… and this was even after V2 ( I guess not all the ‘Old Guard’ RCs bought into the doctrinal changes). Now, all of a sudden, everybody loves these anti-Christs ( 2 John 7) and to even DARE criticize even the most brazenly wicked of them is all of a sudden “ANATHEMA” in today’s society.

Just amazing the power of delusion Satan can descend upon God’s Flock when they lower their guard!

Court Throws Out Holocaust Denial Case

Bishop Williamson

A German court on Wednesday quashed a British bishop’s high-profile conviction for Holocaust denial for procedural reasons but said he may face a new trial on the same allegations.

A court in Nuremberg ruled there were “irremediable procedural problems” in the case against Richard Williamson, who was fined €6,500 ($8,600) in July for “denying key facts about the Nazi genocide”.

“The prosecutor now has the possibility of pressing charges on the basis of the same facts of the case,” the court said in a statement.

A spokesman for prosecutors told news agency AFP that they indeed intended to file new charges “as quickly as possible,” adding this could happen in around five weeks.

The renegade bishop, 71, told Swedish television in 2008 that “200,000 to 300,000 Jews perished in Nazi concentration camps” and disputed the existence of the gas chambers.

The interview was given in a city in Germany, where it is illegal to deny that the Nazis murdered six million Jews during World War II.

The court on Wednesday emphasized that its decision did not mean Williamson’s actions were not illegal, but that procedural flaws had compelled it to annul the case.

Williamson, a member of the breakaway ultra-conservative Catholic fraternity, the Saint Pius X Society, also hit the headlines in 2009 when Pope Benedict XVI reversed his excommunication in a bid to bridge a rift with the organization.

Benedict later said he would not have made such a move if he had known about Williamson’s views on the Holocaust.
